Hello everyone! I know I’m a little late on saying this, but Happy New Year! It’s been close to around 6 or 7 months since my last post (I know, I know. I’m ashamed!) But since it is a new year I made some New Year’s resolutions. One of them being to start blogging again. So… here I am!
With Valentines Day just around the corner this post is going to be on how to make a Heart Eyes Emoji Valentine.
- Yellow Scrapbooking Paper
- Clear Sandwich Bags
- Hot Glue Gun
- X-Acto Knife
- Cutting Mat
- Circular Object To Trace
- Heart To Trace
- Black Paint (Or A Black Marker)
To begin, you’re going to need to find a circular object to trace. I found bowl from my kitchen that was the perfect size. Make two circles and cut them out like so:
Now, it’s time to cut out the eyes and draw/paint on the mouth on one of the circles. I, personally, used foam heart stickers and traced around them with a pencil and then used an x-acto knife to cut them out. I then used a pencil to sketch the mouth out and after I was content with it I used some black acrylic paint to fill it in (you could also use a black marker if you don’t have any paint).
I then took my emoji and flipped it over. I cut out a small piece of a clear lunch bag and hot glue it over top of the eyes. For a little extra security I took my hot glue gun and ever so slightly touched it to the plastic to melt it to the paper. It should look a little something like this:
It is now time to grab your other circle and hot glue it to the back of your emoji face. Keep in mind that hot glue dries fast. I actually had to do this twice because the first time I got antsy and just glued the entire circle. It of course didn’t work because the glue had already dried. My second attempt was much better as I glued small areas at a time. Now, REMEMEBER to leave a small hole somewhere so you can fill the emoji with M&M’s or whatever delicious red candy you desire. I used Valentines M&M’s but, as some of you might know, they aren’t only red they are also white, pink and dark pink. To avoid wasting M&M’S I began to first fill the emoji with the white, pink and dark pink ones. As I reached the eyes I began using red. Once your emoji is filled you can now use a dab of hot glue to completely close it. It should look a little something like this:
I truly hope you guys enjoyed this post! I can’t wait to share more of my ideas with you. Ta ta for now!
